With the Tigers first bowl bid in 18 years on the line, down by three against arch rival South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium, and only seconds left on the clock, Tiger quarterback Steve Fuller hits Jerry Butler in the endzone for an absolutely amazing touchdown reception for the win that would simply become known as "The Catch" among Tiger fans for decades to come! Sports Illustrated calls the catch the fourth most iconic play in Tiger football history!

During his time at Clemson, Jerry Butler was named to the All-ACC first-team as well as the AP and Sporting News first-team All-America squads. He was also the co-winner of the Frank Howard Award with Steve Fuller.

After playing at Clemson, Jerry was the number five pick in the NFL draft for the Buffalo Bills. In 1979, he was named the AFC Rookie of the Year. He played in the Pro Bowl in 1980 and went on to a nine-year career with the Bills.

Jerry was inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame in 1986, named to Clemsonโ€™s Centennial team in 1996, and inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame in 1997. Two years later in 1999, Jerry received Clemsonโ€™s highest athletic honor by being inducted into the Ring of Honor-becoming one of only seven individual players in Tigers history to receive this distinguishment.

Jerry Butler signed memorabilia is extremely rare, order your signed copy of one of the greatest plays in Tiger history today!
