Big restock over at NJ on Easton Ave !

12 years ago this week, we opened our first record store in a tiny basement space on Easton Ave, just up the block from the train station. It wasn't much—when we found it, it was being used to store mops and buckets—but we made it our own. Eventually, we worked our way out of the basement and down the street to 118 Easton Ave, our longest-running and most memorable location.

After about a decade of the retail grind, it felt like the right time for a change. Life got busier—we had kids, moved out to the country, and decided to turn the page. We closed the storefront and shifted the business online while building something we'd talked about for years: thoughtfully curated mobile record carts placed in local businesses we love. None of it would have happened without Mrs. Records Jess Wadkins Spina, whose support and partnership have been second to none.

A year ago, after the Rutgers students headed home and another quiet New Brunswick summer rolled in, we locked the doors for the last time and began the long process of packing up the shop, bringing it home, and building it back into something new. In many ways, it felt like starting over—but it was the right move. Today we run the entire business from our homestead in the Princeton area, and 12 years later, we're still going strong.
