In case you haven't read your emails this morning, I am announcing my retirement.
You have been so much more than customers to me. Youβve become friends, neighbors, and part of our quilting family. Every class, conversation, shared story, and finished quilt has helped make this shop what it is. Iβll treasure the laughter, encouragement, and community weβve created together.
While Iβm looking forward to this next chapter, saying goodbye to the shopβand to seeing you hereβwill be hard. Thank you for welcoming me into your lives and for supporting my shop through the years. It has meant the world to me.
We will be closed this Sunday, October 4th and will reopen Thursday October 8th for our liquidation sale. Machines, cabinets, fabric, patterns, kits-everything will be on sale up to 75% off.
I will miss our daily interactions, but look forward to seeing many of you at guild meetings or shows. I am looking forward to traveling, enjoying my 19 grandchildren, and diving into the very large stack of unfinished and new projects piled up in my sewing studio.
I will send another email later this week with the details of the retirement sale, but wanted you all to hear about my retirement from me. It has been a dream to own and operate The Iowa Quilt Block, and while it seems very strange to quit while we are doing so well, one thing my Uncle John said at my dadβs funeral was to not wait until later in life-you may not have your health or mobility by then. Take your oportunities now. I am not completely sure what life will look like on the other side ( i fear it may be a bit boring compared!) but I am ready to slow down and enjoy life.
Thankyou!! Shelley
PS-- Please know that if you have purchased a machine, signed up for a class, or rent longarms, we have your back and will make sure all will be well for you!!
