My passion for fashion started at a very young age through 4-H sewing projects. Luckily, my mom passed this down to me, by teaching me to sew when I was just 9 years old. I still remember my first project, a simple tote bag & pair of capri pants. I continued sewing throughout high school and from there, attended Kent State University to pursue a degree in fashion design. Currently, I work at large
design corporation based in the mid western United States. I love having the opportunity to create at my daily job but it never seems to be enough! So, in my spare time, I’ve branched out on my own with Maegan Jeanette Designs. It started simply, with a couple flannel scarves for my sister and I. But, the shop really took off when I decided to sell a few scarves at a craft show with the help of my mom. They were selling like hot cakes! And, as they say, the rest is history. My designs are inspired by the everyday young woman who loves heritage & down to earth fashions. Each piece is imagined & created by myself in my home studio. Whenever possible, I use reclaimed or dead stock materials. I love the story each of these items carries and really enjoy giving them a continued life.
