Mumpsimus Books is now completely moved out of its old location...but not yet completely moved into bits new location. The new scheduled opening dare fir the new location of 37 East Main St is now Tuesday, May 5th.

Big news! Mumpsimus Books is moving to 37 E. Main St. I will be open Friday and Saturday of this week at my current location, and perhaps Friday and Saturday of next week as well, but otherwise will be closed until the move is complete. If all goes as planned, I will be opening at the new location on Friday, May 1st. See you soon!

Another book I plan bringing to 40th Annual Akron Antiquarian Book and Paper show is "Knights Templars' Tactics and Drill For The Use of Commanderies of the Ordes of Romantic Knighthood" published in 1875 by the Grand Commandery of New York. It is clear the publisher's knew the title was a mouthful, and used on the halftitle page the shorter subtitle "

There is a touch of rubbing on the corners and ends of the spine, and the purple on the front and spine have faded somewhat, but I suspect I would much worse were I to reach 151 years old.

Another book I plan on taking to 40th Annual Akron Antiquarian Book & Paper Show is this lovely 1st edition of George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones. I may also bring some paperback copies of some of his earlier scifi, specifically Dying Of The Light and Windhaven

Here is a book I plan on bringing the 40th Annual Akron Antiquarian Book & Paper Show, the 1928 Penn Publishing edition of Arabian Nights, lavishly illustrated by Virginia Frances Sterrett.

This was the third and final book Ms. Sterrett illustrated for Penn Publishing before her untimely death at the age of 30. The two other books, also by Penn Publishing, are Old French Fairy Tales (1920) and Tanglewood Tales (1921).
