Finding a piece of furniture in this fabric has been on my wish list for a long time and the universe has provided and then some! This was dropped off to the shop this week and I moved everything around just to make it fit! This sofa is tagged 1960s and will be available for sale soon!

New to the collection: Muller’s of Mexico onyx console table circa 1960s-1980s. No other example of this table exists in the archive but this piece has the Muller’s signature on the top. Beautiful piece in excellent condition that was part of an estate where I also picked up an illuminated pedestal of the same material and also signed. Many of Muller’s pieces are attributed in the trade as designed by Arturo Pani specifically the ones that light up or have brass bases. An exceptional example of Mexican mid-century modernism and available in the shop!

An mixed media abstract by J. Rothenberg from 1990 with lots of color and texture… I see a deconstructed fruit still life with bananas, a lemon, a tangerine and a pear! Posted this to stories and some said they saw a tomato and a potato instead of a tangerine 😂 😝 That’s the beauty in abstract art that it allows the viewer to interpret the art as they see fit!

Larry Laslo glass vases from his collection with Mikasa are some of my favorite designs from the time period and completely underrated. This opaline pillow vase produced circa 1980s in Japan has a classic design with its swirl pattern and heavy, dimensional glass. Perfect for florals or adding texture to a shelf or table, this is one of the prettiest vases and a gem to add to any collection.

Recently framed work by Linda Kolar (d. 2020), a transplanted Midwesterner who pursued her art from New Jersey and exhibited regionally notably at the American Artists Professional League (APPL) in 2002. I acquired a few of her paintings via her estate and while most of them were nudes, I was particularly drawn to the ethereal feel of this landscape.

Last week I worked on recovering the seats on this pair of Stendig “Andover” chairs that just came into the shop. Designed in 1983 by David Allen these chairs have always been an iconic design that transcends one specific style and work with any design aesthetic which is why I love them. By intervention of the universe I ended up using this copper rust velvet and I think the came out PERFECT!
