Believing in God and Acting AS If He Exists: A response to Christian Atheism. There is a movement active today which does not believe in God but acts if He does exist. They deny that God exists but try to live by Christians standards. A leader in this movement has written a book entitled Good Without God. My book refutes this movement but the prime theme of the book is that people who believe in God should act if God does exist. Many people believe in God but live their lives as if he does not exist. The book comments on ways Christians can act as if they really believe in God.
Another book coming out soon is LOOK AT GOOD--AIN'T HE AWESOME? This book contains awesome experiences of my wife with God in her life, including Healing experiences; A car backing up by itself to avoid an accident, a mysterious man (angel?) opening a frozen gas tank so she could purchase gas. Ain't He Awesome is a new book I am working on. It features personal experiences of God in my wife's life. Things like healing experiences she has performed, experience of a car moving backward to avoid an accident with no one at the wheel, and the appearance of an angel at a gas station. These are all told in her own words. It will be coming out in a few months. I hope you will sign up as wanting to buy a copy.

Thanks for visiting my author page. I have two books available on Amazon now--LOOKS TO LIFT THE SPIRITS and BELIEVING IN GOD AND ACTING AS IF HE EXISTS. The first book is volume 2 of a book with the same title published in 2011 which is also available. This book helps you feel uplifted for instance as you experience the amazement of the disciples as they were with Jesus in the mountain as well as other stories. The second book BELIEVING IN GOD AND ACTING AS IF HE EXISTS is a response to Christian Atheism which attempts to act like a Christian without believing in God. One of their most popular books is Good without God. But many people who believe in God do not at as if they do. How can you act like a Christian which reflects the existence of a God you believe in? What actions do you do or refrain from doing that indicates you are a believer in God? Should there be a difference in the way Christians acct as opposed to non-Christians? That is what this book discusses.

BOOKS COMING UP: a book dealing with memorable moments with God by my wife experienced in her life. It covers things like healing of people through her prayers, the visit of an angel at the gas station, avoiding an accident when the car backed up and parked in a driveway with no one at the wheels. You will be thrilled when you read about God's actions in her life. Another book in the making is Wisdom from Scripture featuring how you can act in wise ways through examples in the word of God. Another one involves thoughts, prayers, and spiritual exercises you can use each day.
Another book in my planning are sermons or lessons from the Deuterocanonical books. We never hear what God was up to during the years from the Old testament to the coming of Christ. God was still active. Many of these books especially some attributed to Solomon are applicable today. So I will be keeping in touch with you through this site on upcoming books.
Many of you will not be familiar with my background. I am a native of Philadelphia, Pa, a World War DDay veteran. I am 98 years old and was ordained in 1981. I have served churches in Pa. Mass. and Michigan. I live with my wife Beulah Taylor in Westland, Mi. I hope many of you will take the opportunity of reading some of my books.

The chief chaplain at Harvard has published a book entitled GOOD WITHOUT GOD. How can you be good without when God has defined what good is.Read these books and recommend them to others,

Another book with a similar title is Believing In God and Living As If He Does Not Exist This book is written by a pastor who came to realize that while he believed in God, he was leading his church as if God did not exist.A practical atheist, he became able to break down barriers keeping him from an authentic relation with God. My book is focused on Christians who really believe in God, but actually are acting as if God does not exist.The end purpose of both books is to make people aware of the necessity to act as if God really exists. His book is more personal while mine is general in nature and comes from he background of the traditional African American church.Practical atheism, as it is also called,is the belief that God does not exist. It is about the practice of Christian principles, but without a belief in God.It shifts from devotion to God to a devotion to man.It is living as a Christian without belief in God.Some have described it as believing in wrong things but doing right things.Actually, this concept goes back to the philosopher Pascal who urged those who could not believe in God to believe in him anyway for the good of society.However, we who believe in God should act in such a way to demonstrate to the world what a life based on belief in God looks like. The truth is that many of us go about our daily lives without giving much thought to God The result is that we live our lives as if God does not exist or at least does not make much difference. How will people know we believe in God other than church attendance? How does a life lived as if God exists look? How would your life look if you really acted as if God exists?The difference God makes is the way we handle troubles, fears, disappointments, and all the other issues we face in daily life.
Then living as if God exists makes a difference. How would our daily lives look if we took seriously the existence of God in our lives? In our modern day, it is not easy to tell what difference God makes. Therefore, it becomes easy to live as if God does not exist. A man named Craig Gay wrote a book back in 1998 called The Way of the Modern World describing the temptation to live as if God does not exist.The chapters of the book deal with acting as if God exists in our choice of life, in our fears, our disappointments, our peace, our happiness,our temptations, and in many other ways. Our hope is that you will discover that things really go better when you act as if God exists
