As Hieu Tran continues polishing an excerpt from the 2nd Mvt of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor—a movement celebrated for its lyrical beauty, tenderness, and the long singing lines that ask the violinist for more than technique: they ask for a voice.
In his hands is the LuaNar, 2024, a Modern Violin Model by Gracie’s Fine Violins.
From the moment this LuaNar was completed, Hieu has practiced, explored, performed, and grown with this instrument. Through countless hours together, violinist and violin have continued to mature—Hieu discovering greater depth in his musical voice while the LuaNar continues to open, resonate, and reveal its character.
Now, that journey enters another chapter.
As Hieu prepares to pursue the Master’s level of his violin studies and the performances that lie ahead, these daily practice sessions become more than preparation. They are snapshots of an artist in transition—refining his craft, deepening his interpretation, and preparing for the next stage of his musical career.
