Passing the Torch
There’s something timeless about standing in the water, fly rod in hand, teaching someone younger how to read a riffle or mend a line. The way their eyes light up when a fish takes the fly, the questions they ask, the way they hang on every word, it’s more than just teaching a skill. It’s passing down a tradition, a mindset, and a way of healing.
At Project Healing Waters, we believe that the power of fly fishing doesn’t stop with us. It’s something we share, with our kids, our grandkids, our neighbors. We pass it down so the next generation knows the value of slowing down, looking closer, and appreciating what nature gives back. Whether it’s tying that first woolly bu**er or showing them how to gently release a trout, these moments matter.
Because when we teach the younger generation, we aren’t just giving them a hobby, we’re handing them a lifeline.
