39 years ago today, at around 10am, Benjamin Adrian Nowakowski died.
He was a Seventh Day Adventist and kept the Sabbath holy, according to his belief.
He loved his family and people, in general. Ben always wore a fedora-like hat that was one size too small. He and his twin brother Ed, would tell the same corny jokes at his Sunday auctions and the crowd always laughed aloud at those same corny jokes...every Sunday. My guess is the expressions on their faces, the exchange of silly grins on their faces and the rolling of their eyes. Just something about those two being the brothers they were since conception.
He never sold any toys, patriotic or religious items that came up for bid. He gave them away to the people attending his auctions. He was a kind, generous man who loved and lived a simple life.
His favorite flowers were hollyhocks and forget-me- nots.
He is buried in the Westmoreland cemetery, not far from his home, his auction house and his church.
Ben was 64 years old.
We haven't forgotten you Ben 🌿
