The shop name was taken from one of my sweet little cockatiels, Squeekers, who helps make all of the items with me. She loves helping place the yarn just so, or running away with my DPNs. :)
Sadly Squeekers passed away in 2013, but the name of this shop will stay in her remembrance. Check me out on Ravelry - http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Rabenfuchs

July was an absolute blur, y’all. My partner had a total knee replacement, my own health had its usual ups and downs, work didn’t slow down for any of it, and somewhere in the middle of all that chaos we decided it was the perfect time to bring home a new puppy (spoiler: there is no perfect time, we just did it anyway).

Needless to say, the needles didn’t move as fast as I wanted them to this month. But there was still yarn happening in the cracks between hospital visits and puppy zoomies, and these little purple shorty ankle socks got FINISHED. I’m honestly so happy with how they turned out even if the photo doesn’t do them justice.

I also have two well worn and well loved pairs of socks from 2005, yes, they’re old enough to legally drink in America at this point, that are finally beyond repair. I’m taking them apart to salvage what yarn I can and turn it into something new. Watch for those posts soon, it feels like a proper send off for socks that have earned their retirement.

There’s a whole pile of other WIPs waiting in the wings too, so more finished projects coming soon. Thanks for sticking around through the chaotic months. Sometimes life just doesn’t leave much room for anything else, and that’s okay.

What’s been keeping you from your needles lately? Tell me I’m not alone.

As promised: better photos of my finished Köynnös Socks. The vine lace really comes to life once they’re on, and I couldn’t resist a little photoshoot out by my garden.

This was such a joy to test knit, light, airy, and perfect for summer.

Finished my Köynnös Socks test knit today and had SO much fun with this one. That vine lace running down the foot was such a satisfying knit. Better pictures coming this weekend, for now, here's a quick peek fresh off the needles.

Some people deserve to only ever walk on hand knit socks.
This is my love language: casting on something beautiful for someone who deserves beautiful things. These Solstice Musing socks by are headed to a very good friend of mine, because she deserves nothing less than the comfort of a hand knit sock beneath her feet at all times. That's just facts.
The cables on these are ebeautiful, and I made a little executive tester decision to mirror the cable crosses on each sock instead of doing the same cross on both. Chaotic? Maybe. More interesting? Absolutely.
Yarn details: the body is ks Sandscapes Fi*****ng in Adrift and that gorgeous swirling multicolor is doing all the heavy lifting.
Handmade gifts hit different. You can't buy the hours, the intention, or the love that goes into every stitch. Summer is full of reasons to give something made by hand.

The Big Summer Yarn Sale is here and my cart is already a crime scene. 🛒💸
Friends. FRIENDS. Chroma Fi*****ng is $4 a ball. Regularly $12.99. I am not okay and neither is my self control. I've already got Supermoon, Sea Anemone, Sand & Sea, and Puffer Jacket in my cart because Chroma's long color transitions are absolutely made for summer knitting, socks that look like sunsets, shawls that shift like ocean water, that kind of magic. These are the yarns you dream about and the sale is the universe telling you it's time.
Summer sales are genuinely the best time to stock up because you're not panic-buying for a holiday deadline, you're shopping with intention, grabbing the colors that have been living rent-free in your head, and building a stash that'll carry you through the rest of the year. This is strategic. This is responsible, actually.
Don't @ me... I know what I am doing here, I am a professional!

Halfway through 2026 and my needles have not rested for a single second.
Mid-year check-in time... This year has been a lot of knitting. I have been deep in test knit season, churning out sock after sock for some incredibly talented designers, and it has been an absolute joy. But somewhere in between all those test knits I have also been making things for the people I love.
Enter: the Ribbon Wrap...Twice. Because once was not enough.
This pattern has become my love letter to color this year. The trans flag version has already found its way to the person it was always meant for. The rainbow version is still on my needles but has a recipient waiting.
Both knit entirely in Swish Worsted, which is the perfect vehicle for bold color work like this. Soft, reliable, and the color range never lets me down. My own color alterations on both because I cannot leave a pattern alone apparently.
It has been a year of test knits, gifted makes, and a whole lot of love knit into every stitch. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Goals for the rest of 2026? Finish what's on my needles, keep saying yes to designers I believe in, and maybe, just maybe, let my stash breathe for five minutes.
What have you made this year that you're proudest of?
