We truly believe the little details matter. When we noticed the handwritten name, grade, and year on the back of this elementary-school artwork, we knew it was part of the story and deserved to be preserved too.

At just two years old, Bob was proudly waving an American flag. Decades later, he’s still honoring what that flag represents—this time by helping preserve the stories behind them.

From treasured family heirlooms to oversized flags that have witnessed history, every piece we frame carries a story worth protecting. It’s a privilege to help preserve those memories for generations to come.

We love discovering the stories behind the artwork that comes through our doors — and this one is extra special.

We’re celebrating Oak Origins: From Acorns to Species and the Tree of Life, a beautiful collaboration between two of our customers, Andrew L. Hipp and Rachel D. Davis.

Andrew, Director of the Herbarium and Senior Scientist in Plant Systematics at The Morton Arboretum, shares the incredible 50-million-year story of oak trees — while Rachel brings that story to life through her detailed pen-and-ink illustrations.

We had the honor of custom framing six of Rachel’s original illustrations from the book, and now we’re giving away a signed copy of Oak Origins! 🌳

There’s nothing better than seeing an artist’s vision come together. ✨

We loved unboxing these beautiful original paintings by of and seeing them go from our frame shop ➡️ onto the gallery walls.

Karyn chose a gorgeous gold frame with black edges that complements the movement, color, and energy of each piece. 💛🖤

These framed originals can be displayed together as a collection or individually — each one making its own statement.

You can see them in person at in La Grange or this weekend Karyn along with her larger canvas paintings at the Hinsdale Art Fair June 6 & 7 from 10AM–4PM.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Hours

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Please note that DuPage Framing Center will be closed Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25 as we spend time with family and reflect on the meaning of this holiday.

We will reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday 10-6.

This one stopped me in my tracks… 🌳

A tree—created entirely from layers of fabric, handmade papers, and found materials—by Carol Tessier The texture, the movement, the depth… it feels alive.

It also feels especially fitting for Arbor Day.
Because just like trees, this piece is built in layers—rooted, intentional, and full of story.

We discovered Carol’s work while visiting my sister Su Anne, owner of the very person that inspired my love of framing.

And isn’t that what art does?
It connects us. Places. People. Moments in time.

Carol “paints” with textiles—often using nautical charts, vintage papers, and collected fabrics—to create pieces that feel both grounded and expressive. Gathering the materials, she says, is half the magic… and you can feel that in every inch of this work.
