Year 2 of was AMAZING🥳

This year, my looks were “By the Model, For the Model.” Each of my amazing models came down to the shop and picked their own outfit based on their own personality.

Huge thank you to all of my models for being so amazing and professional! Thank you to .hall for hosting us again. Thank you to Emily and the entire team for making this happen. And most of all, HUGE THANK YOU to the 200 people that filled the room! Without all of you, none of this would be possible.

A few days ago, our local YWCA Boutique posted this handpainted jacket for sale. After talking to a few of the ladies at the YWCA, I found out this jacket was commissioned by Kathy Mattea and Michael Martin Murphey for a lady from Wheeling named Susan Hogan.

So far, the few people that have seen the jacket (including the ladies who reluctantly sold it to me at the YWCA) have had the most amazing stories about who Susan Hogan was.

So far, I’ve learned she was heavily intertwined with the Wheeling Symphony, and actually hosted Kathy Mattea, Michael Martin Murphey and several other huge names in music when they came to Wheeling. Susan LOVED Wheeling and was a huge advocate for historic preservation, including being involved with the rehab of The McLure and Scottish Rite buildings. She also loved the history of African American influence in the Ohio Valley and often shared stories of “forgotten history” with friends and neighbors, helping piece together the changes that have happens throughout the years.

Susan Hogan passed on November 23, 2024 at 74 years old, but she left behind a legacy of music, history, and LOVE. Susan is remembered for being a beam of light anywhere she went, and would help anyone who needed it.

I’m very honored to have this jacket, and hope it continues to show what kind of person Susan Hogan truly was. If you have any Susan Hogan stories, please share them!

Finding vintage Wheeling/Ohio Valley related clothing is so cool because so often someone will walk in, see the local item, and share an amazing story about it. I’ve learned so much about the history of Wheeling through finding old pieces of clothing and the stories along the way.
