Our final events of 2026 are on the calendar, and we hope to see you at one of them!

📚October 17th find us at White Hall Founders' Day from 11am to 5pm. The annual event is held at White Hall City Park where there will be vendors, food trucks, and live music.

📚December 5th find us at the Star City Women League's Holiday House from 9am to 3pm. The annual event hosted by SCWL is located at Southside Missionary Baptist Church on highway 425 south in Star City, AR.

A LENGTHY update from The Book Haven:

TBH has not been as active over the last couple of years due to my pregnancy and the wonderful chaos that comes with being a first-time mom, but I’m so excited to attend a couple of events at the end of this year and start getting back into a regular pop-up schedule.

Since we are a mobile bookstore that travels throughout southeast Arkansas, it can be difficult for us to be rewarded the label of “your local, independently owned bookstore”, but that’s always been the goal. I have so many ideas for regular engagement with the community, but I want to make sure it’s all valuable to our customer base!

Thank you to each and every one of you who have bought a book, visited us at an event, or even interacted with one of our social media posts within the last 3 years. Starting this bookstore and seeing the excitement on peoples’ faces when they discover us is truly a dream come true!

What to look forward to:

We’re so excited for Spring on the Square THIS FRIDAY!

This event in downtown Monticello is one of our favorites to attend, and it’s continued to grow each Spring and Fall. Check out the food truck lineup, come get you a bite to eat while exploring the vendor tents, and enjoy some good music! We hope to see you there!

🎤🎤...testing, testing, 1-2-3...is this thing on? AHEM! We're baaaaaack! 👋🏻

It's time for our hiatus to end. We'll be getting back into the swing of regular pop-ups with TWO events in May.

At our upcoming event in Star City, we're going to be having a MEGA SALE to clear out some of the older stock we have. Stay tuned for details on that because you won't want to miss these deals!

Let’s chat about what 2025 looks like for The Book Haven 🫶🏼

✨With the closing of Grace & Grit Trading Co., we no longer have a “permanent” place to provide our customers with the opportunity to find their next favorite read. Hopefully we can find something similar in the future, but we are dedicating our time to refreshing our inventory before we transition back to solely pop ups!

✨We are adding a ‘little reader’ to our family! Owner Lauren is due to have her first little one toward the end of this year. We’re so excited for this addition to our family, but it will require us to take it easier this summer and have a break in the fall and early winter.

Keep an eye out here for upcoming pop up announcements! We hope to do at least one this summer and a couple in the fall. The Book Haven will be back in its full pop up glory in the year 2026.

As many of you know, Grace & Grit Trading Co. will be closing at the end of this month. It’s been wonderful to have a permanent location for some of you to go and find your next favorite read, and I hope we can find something similar to that setup in the future.

For now, we will be primarily returning to our pop up shop. BUT we need your help! If you know of an event happening in Southeast or Central Arkansas that you’d love to see us attend, be sure to send over the info! If you know of any local businesses that would fit our vibe and might allow us to do a pop up there, please send them our way!

As always thank you for supporting our small indie bookstore, and we hope to see you soon at a pop up near you!
