Prairie Artisan Fragrances began in 2011, and like every small business, our journey has been filled with both wonderful triumphs and humbling challenges. When I realized I needed help bringing the vision I held for this little business to life, a dear friend introduced me to PXD Marketing, a small firm based in Tea, South Dakota, co-owned by Levi Weishedel and Tyler Parr.

Levi and Tyler simply “get me”—which, in itself, is no small accomplishment! As many of you know, my thoughts and words can sometimes be scattered, and I have a habit of taking on far more than I could ever reasonably accomplish. They have brought Prairie Artisan Fragrances not only exceptional marketing and creative direction, but also a much-needed sense of organization, clarity, and purpose.

More importantly, they have met me with extraordinary kindness, patience, and understanding, particularly through the personal health challenges that kept me—and the business—sidelined for quite some time. For that, I am more grateful than I could ever adequately express.

I want to offer my most heartfelt thanks to Levi and Tyler, as well as to my dear friend Scott Gales, for their guidance, encouragement, and for so graciously helping me find my way forward.

PXD filmed every moment of our new commercial, with many of its scenes captured on and around the farm where I grew up. I have never been more deeply moved by a finished piece. It so beautifully reflects where my family and I come from and holds within it the spirit of a place that shaped who I am. Watching it brings back memories of a truly wonderful upbringing—the people, the beauty, and the quiet magic found in a place that some may consider the middle of nowhere, but which will always mean everything to me.

To Levi, Tyler, and Scott: thank you, wholeheartedly, for believing in my vision, for walking beside me, and for helping tell our story with such beauty and care. My heart is overflowing with gratitude and love for each of you.

Our inaugural television campaign has begun airing, introducing our fragrances—and the story behind them—to a new audience.
There is something extraordinary about seeing a creation that began quietly, with an idea and a love of fragrance, find its way onto the television screen. We could not let the occasion pass without including those of you who have been part of our journey.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been navigating some unexpected health challenges that require my full attention for a short time. I’ve recently been diagnosed with hypoglycemia and a moderate sugar intolerance, which we are still working to regulate. In the early stages this has caused some difficult symptoms, including occasional blackouts, so my doctors and I are taking the time needed to stabilize everything safely.

In addition, I have been diagnosed with both carpal tunnel and ulnar syndrome in both arms. Surgery is scheduled for March 31st, and during that time my medical team will also be conducting testing related to a possible connective tissue condition called amyloidosis.

Because of this, I will be taking a brief hiatus from business operations while I focus on treatment, surgery, and recovery. My goal is to return by **April 15th**, and I am hopeful that this short pause will allow me to come back healthier and ready to move forward.

Please know this pause is only temporary. Behind the scenes there are already **new products and new fragrances in development**, and I am excited to share them with you when I return. My hope is to come back **stronger than ever**, refreshed and ready to continue creating the things you love.

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and support. It truly means more than you know. I look forward to reconnecting with all of you very soon.

Update #2: Hi everyone! I have had a little run of bad luck. My incision was closed with surgical glue. Turns out I'm very allergic to it, and have blisters the size of quarters all over the wound area, and due to that swelling my incision is wide open with my tendon exposed. So my quick turnaround recovery time is having time added to recovery. Anyway, I will do my best to navigate the best I can. Thank you all for your support!❤️

UPDATE: Surgery went well, and I can begin working lightly by Friday. Woohoo!!! Thank you all for the well wishes!!!❤️

Hello Everyone! I want to give you a heads up. I'm having hand surgery this morning. I will be laid up for a little bit, and will still take orders. They will take a bit longer to get out. I should be running near full speed in about 2 weeks. Have a blessed week!

As two kind, inspiring and free-spirited kids growing up on the plains of South Dakota, Emma and Elijah were the first humans to award me with the title “aunt.” As time passed, and these “kids” grew into young adults, I searched for a way to celebrate the unique and important bond between a brother and a sister. Something that reflects their personalities, interests and passions. The resulting fragrances are of unmatched love, care and admiration. It was truly an honor to create these highlights and building blocks in our Legacy Collection.
