25 years ago, four air planes were used as weapons of mass destruction against the United States. 2,977 Americans lost their lives that day. Many, many others suffered injuries from minor to debilitating. We lost members of our community that day as well. On that day in 2001, Americans came together to support their fellow Americans and we were united like never before.
Today, we pause to reflect on that day and the horrific acts as well as the patriotic acts carried out by police, fire and rescue and people who were willing to answer the call no one ever expected.
Today, 25 years later, we are still all Americans and we should never forget what happened that day and the affect it has had on our nation, our communities and our families.
