Walking the woods, looking for orchids
noticing all the new greens thriving on the forest floor, seeing my first white violet of the season.
I heard a tiny bird sound next to me, this mountain chickadee was letting me know it was there waiting for a nut. I stayed to give it more nuts.... instead it flew to this branch next to me and sat there looking around. I suppose it was resting, or perhaps listening for its kin.
A sweet moment, nature knows when to be still, when to listen, when to rest. Of course it is a lovely experience to have a bird feel at peace doing this 3 feet from me.
Intimacy with our natural world is endlessly rewarding, nurturing to the deepest parts of us.
