🎣 If you've been waiting to hit the Flathead River, that time is NOW. As of today, March 27, 2025, the river near Columbia Falls is running at approximately 8,200 CFS. That's more than double the flow from this same date last year, which was around 3,800 CFS.
With daytime temperatures reaching into the 60s, snowmelt is accelerating, and these numbers are only going to climb. Recent storms have boosted our snowpack to 99% of the median, so runoff is imminent.
If you're aiming to fish pre-runoff—before the rivers get blown out—this weekend is your window. After that, you'll likely be waiting until late May or early June for conditions to settle.
