Remember the post asking what the plan was for the stick that arrived in the mail was?

Well, Gus the Newfoundland Dog found an amazing stick (in his opinion) that he had the BEST time with at the beach!

He insisted on bringing it home and his person, Terry Sutton-Fuller, came up with the creative idea of having a photo from that day framed but with the dog carrying the actual stick.

Walaaah! I love creating unique shadowboxes that will forever bring back joyful feelings each time you view it. And I always welcome a challenge.

Another piece of artwork acquired on a significant vacation. This silk needlework was purchased in Eastern Asia from a lady who stitched the entire piece by hand from silk that she harvested from her own silkworms. The detail is incredible and it seems like it creates its own light. (I'll include a detail of the back in the comments) Then she brought it to Klinefelter's Gallery to have just the right framing presentation.
I can't emphasize enough what a good idea it is to bring home a piece of artwork from any vacation. One glance and Lori will be right back to that place and time.

I always recommend to people that when they take a significant trip, they should buy a piece of artwork while they are there to remember the trip by. In this case, Kelly went to Africa and brought back some currency for us to frame. Pictures on the bills are rhino, elephant, lion, cape buffalo and cheetah. Truly beautiful and a great idea on Kelly's part!
Every time they look at this, it will bring back a rush of great memories.

We can be grateful that we don't have the snow like we had 12 years ago. This is the same view across the street from Klinefelter's gallery minus the top mailbox.
