The jaw dropping provision that flooded through the doors…
There are no words…
By now it should come as no surprise just how much this community cares for it’s people…yet it still blows me away!
As many of you know, we have a food pantry at our store. It’s fully filled by the community and anyone can come and get whatever they need. We feed 80+ families/individuals a week from the pantry. We often get messages or calls from families who have run out of food and need a little extra. We put together boxes from what’s available and help as much as we can. Lately the need for food has been greater than what’s been coming in and the shelves were getting a bit thin.
A family with kids reached out and asked for help. They said they had nothing left. We looked at our mostly empty shelves and at each other. The post went up on facebook asking if anyone had a little extra to spare. The hope was that we could, together, get a box of food for the family...that was the hope and the prayer…
The result? Load after load, calls, messages, a family reunions worth of food ready to eat…
The outpouring of love and care for your fellow community members...there are no words...a simple “thank you” seems trivial…
Thanks to all of you, they got food last night and there is a second load going their way on Tuesday. The overflow has filled the pantry shelves again and will continue to bless many others who are out of food as well.
I wish I could express in words the gratitude in our hearts for the way you take care of each other. This is truly the best community we could ever ask for!
