The fall fun continues tomorrow! Our Pumpkin Patch will be open from Noon to 4 PM, and we’ll have Loaded Tea and Smetzers Snack Shack joining us!

Our bonsai area is stocked back up with a fresh shipment, and Rhonda spent a good part of yesterday completely reworking this space to give it a little more of that peaceful, zen feeling these plants deserve. We think she nailed it! 💚
There are so many unique bonsais to look through, and one of our favorite parts is that many of them have their variety AND age listed right on the tag. Some of these little trees have quite a story already!

Our pallet maze is bigger than ever this year, and we want to know what y’all think!
Every year, Michael maps out the maze using popsicle sticks before the crew brings his plan to life. This year he decided to go even BIGGER, using 320 pallets to build it! 😂
A HUGE shoutout to Charlie Smith for taking the lead on the build and making sure it was ready in time for our Pumpkin Patch Opening Day today! 👏

It's pre-emerge time! We recommend applying pre emergent to your lawn 3 times per year for the best results. Those times are February, May and September. This September application is to stop the winter weeds such as Poa, Rescuegrass, Henbit, and Dandelions. Make sure to water it in for best results. 💧

Well, this might be a Smith’s Gardentown first! 😂🐒
We absolutely LOVE when y’all bring your pets along to shop with us, but yesterday’s surprise visitor was a little different… a Capuchin monkey!
She checked out the store, met some of the crew, and apparently decided Jason was her new best friend. 😂 We’re not sure Jason was prepared to make a new monkey friend at work, but she sure took a liking to him!

🐦 Grow the Feathers, Dim the Lights
Have you noticed some scruffy looking birds lately? That’s because this is the time of year that many birds are shedding their old worn-out feathers and replacing them with new ones. It’s a process called molting and our seasonally savvy FeatherPro™ SuperBlend® can really help them through it. FeatherPro™ is packed with the protein and fat they need for healthy feather growth and maintenance. Wild Birds Unlimited inside Smith’s Gardentown has it as a bagged seed and a seed cylinder. The cylinders are even available in our hot pepper blend to deter squirrels and other pests from dining at your bird feeders.
Those new feathers come in handy for migration and we’re in the peak migrating period now through the end of October. Turning off your outdoor lights at night gives us a great opportunity to save on our electricity bill just a bit and help the birds a lot. The birds frequently migrate by night and navigate by the stars, so the less light pollution we produce, the more accurate their migration route is. It’s a simple thing to do and really helps the birds. 🌙
