Al's was closed today. The exhaust fumes from the renovation of the space behind ours were intolerable and unsafe. I will air everything out in the morning and they have promised that it won't happen again. 🤞I hope you will all come and shop this week. We will give a 10% discount between now and Christmas. I will hope my voice comes back 😉 🎁 🎄

Anita, the owner, wise and keen,
Runs the store like a book-loving queen!
She knows each tale from spine to spine,
From old-time classics to books brand-new and fine.

Then there’s Ben, who’s fast, not slow,
He stacks the shelves row by row.
Need a mystery? Need a clue?
Ben knows just the book for you!

And don’t forget dear Abby, too,
With a smile so big and a laugh so true!
She’ll find you a tale, she’ll pick you a treat,
A book that will lift you right off your feet!

Now Charles—oh, Charles—so clever and wise,
He finds hidden treasures with twinkling eyes!
From dusty old tomes to stories brand-new,
If there's a rare book, Charles knows what to do!

With books galore from wall to wall,
For big folks, small folks, short and tall!
A book for a chef, a book for a clown,

Thank you for the post! It is nice to have new friends!

You never know what you'll find in Wichita. For me, some place new I learned about was Al’s Old and New Book Store in Delano. I was driving down Douglas and randomly saw a sign for the book store at 1700 W. Douglas and decided to pop in.
