Our story started with a mutual love of books. Patrick McDonald was the mayor of Arkansas City and owner of McDonald’s Used Books when Dalene started working as Library Director at the Arkansas City Public Library. With a little help from Patrick’s brother Ralph, we met each other, and with some more help from the city attorney, we were married a year and a half later. The love of books and each other expanded to a love of sewing machines and sewing. While I can’t say I love vacuums, we do love helping people live their best life, and clean floors don’t hurt.

Our Wichita customers who came down to Ark City to work with us encouraged us to open a store in Wichita, so here we are. Our niece Laura has joined us and will eventually become the store manager. Laura is a retired Navy veteran who saw combat duty in Iraq. She loves quilting and sewing and helping others. We’re so glad to be working with her.

We would be honored to service your sewing machine or vacuum and provide free estimates on repairs. We offer a great selection of Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff sewing and embroidery machines. We carry Grace quilting machines and frames and Consew industrial sewing machines. We also have a great selection of Clover sewing notions, Robison-Anton sewing threads, Maxi Lock and Snazzy Lock serger thread, industrial thread cones, and quilting thread. We have a small collection of fabric that we plan to expand over time.
