Congratulations to Dr. Ruisi, a Wickenburg High School graduate, military veteran and trusted veterinarian in our area and across Arizona.

We're so proud to share that Dr. Ruisi has been appointed to the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association Board of Directors, where she'll represent rural communities across the state!

Dr. Ruisi has always been passionate about the roots of veterinary medicine — especially supporting mixed general practice and the vets who choose that path. In this new role, she'll advocate for training that prepares veterinarians for the realities of rural practice, while working to strengthen trust between vets and their communities through education, transparency, and care standards that are both high-quality and sustainable.

She's also a champion for the next generation of rural veterinarians, encouraging students from rural backgrounds to pursue this profession and come back home to serve the communities that raised them.

Congratulations, Dr. Ruisi — we can't wait to see the impact you'll make!

Ben’s Saddlery owner Jeanie Hankins is working this summer to continue the shop’s 70+ years tradition of solid-built custom ranch saddles.
“It’s definitely an art that requires a lot of strength and skill,” Hankins said. “I’m working hard to perfect my methods.”
Hankins spent a week of 12-hour days with Grasshopper Saddlery in Paducah, TX and came home with a 14.5” ranch saddle on a Tucson tree.
“It’s a tree that was sitting here on the shelf when I bought the shop two years ago, and I wanted to give it life,” she said.
