Every time I do my little monthly round up, I can’t believe how quickly the months pass by. This month dabbled in a lot of genres and this was a batch of winners! Most notably, my friend .l.beers_author latest (which will be available this month)

🎆 I finally gave in and read the last book in the Game Changers series. I’ll miss you, Ilya. Until 2027 when we meet again.

🎆 I loved What Happened To Those Girls by - what a fun thriller! You have a new fan. ❤️

🎆 In bookish television, I watched The Five Star Weekend. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If .garner is in it, I’m going to watch it. But luckily, this was a really wonderful series. My husband and I also watched I Will Find You.

🎆 One of the most exciting parts of July was getting to see The Outsiders on Broadway. It was a very special day with a very special little lady!

And that’s a wrap on July! Until next time… 💜

My most recent ARC was highly anticipated. I am a big fan of local Poconos author J.L Beers and her multi-genre books, but I am also lucky to call this lovely and talented lady my friend!

I absolutely adored the first book in the Blue Ridge series, Working for the Widow. It was my introduction to a small town filled with an eclectic mix of characters. Some chapters made me giggle, while others made me cry. It gave me the deep story I craved while also offering a sweet love story that leaned into second chances. That theme continues in the second book in the series, Committed to the Convict.

Sarah owns and operates the local animal shelter. She is the type of woman to put other’s needs before her own. Sarah has sacrificed so much to advocate and create a shelter that feels like a sanctuary. A place where every animal has love, care and an opportunity to find their forever home. But sometimes pouring all of that love into others leaves you with an emptiness.

Roman has a rap sheet longer than a CVS receipt. He has just been released from prison after serving 10 years for a crime he didn’t mean to commit. While freedom is sweet, the judgment of your past can be sour. Roman has a difficult time trusting people and is perplexed by the unexpected kindness he has been shown since coming to Blue Ridge.

When Roman begins volunteering at Sarah‘s shelter for community service hours as part of his parole, they join forces using their individual talents to infiltrate an illegal dog fighting ring. His talent? Blending in with the illegal and unsavory. Her talent? Making sure no animal has to go through the pain or fate of a dangerous environment.

It’s high stakes. It’s dangerous. It’s kind of… Sexy?

Can Sarah fill the void and share some of her passion with another? Can Roman rise above his past and start anew? What are they going to do with all of this chemistry they have?! You’ll have to read Committed to the Convict next month and find out. 💋
