College is more than just getting good grades and studying hard. π
Itβs also about helping your student step out of their comfort zone, and trying new things....while also creating lasting memories that will stay with them well after graduation.
Summer is a great time to start thinking about what time spent in college will look like, and putting "college involvement or engagement fairs" on the calendar. These are great opportunities for students to visit tables during the event that represent all the clubs and groups represented on campus.
* Joining groups to make new friends
* Study abroad opportunities
* Join a club or organization that shares your interests
* Finding an internship
* Getting involved on campus
* Attending football games and sporting events
Your student's experience doesn't have to be like everyone else's, encourage them to make it their own. Encourage them to try new things and step out of their comfort zone.
But mostly, encourage them to enjoy the journey!
What will your student include on their bucket list?
