Summer clothing sale continues at 50% off!!

Great deals on short skirts, pants, Capris, dresses and so much more. And before you think we’ve lost it, we have decided to hang our pants on the edge for easier access to sizing and pricing for you, our customers. It’s taking some time getting used to, but it is helpful.

I wanted to share something wonderful that happened.
Mr Lee Holland came into our store and found this painting!! That he happened to be in!!
Here is his story.

MY STORY

"In the early 1990s, I joined the Project Liberty Ship organization. We obtained the Liberty Ship, John W Brown, in the late 1980s. After several years of restoration work, the John W Brown was operational, sailing several times a year out of Baltimore, MD.

The one spare component needed to keep the John W. Brown sailing was a spare propeller. The propeller is unique to the Liberty Ship design. The only spare known was the propeller on the Protector/Marks. The Protector/Marks was obtained by Project Liberty Ship after several years of negotiations. In 1995 final plans were made to move the Protector/Marks from the mothball fleet to a shipyard on the South Elizabeth River.

My sense of “I can make this happen” placed me in the roll of volunteer Project Officer for the move. In this roll, I had to find tugboats, a river pilot, support staff, and solve a host of logistical support issues. The mission was a success and a highlight of my time with the John W Brown, great shipmates

A point in closing, I am the person standing in the tub of the 3-inch gun mount (bow) barking orders on four radios, smooth seas, smooth sailing. The print now resides in Chester, Va.

THE ARTIST

Captain Brian Hope is a world-renowned marine artist who lives in Baltimore, MD. In addition to his artwork, Brian had a very successful career in the maritime industry. Brian is a retired ship pilot from the Maryland Pilots Association. The painting was created/painted by him as a thank you presentation to the US Army 10th Transportation Battalion. The original painting is displayed at the Maryland Pilots Association HQs in Baltimore. Brian also served as the Chairman for Project Liberty Ship.
