SAVE THE DATE‼ Fall is the perfect time to plant a tree because you have Fall, Winter & Spring to get the roots properly established before we get back to the heat of Summer again.

We have customers that look forward to this sale every year because of the big Big BIG SAVINGS. We have 4 acres of space out here and we have trees lining almost the whole perimeter... so we have an abundance of options to choose from.

Learning from previous years, we have found that planning ahead and doing your research first helps to be better prepared for the sale. So if you want to come visit in the weeks prior and ask us a plethora of questions.... we absolutely welcome that. We even have a Tree Sale Cheat Sheet for you to use...so just ask us for it... There is no quick fix for our Texas clay soils - but this article does a good job on telling you what to avoid. We carry Microlife Humates concentrated compost, mushroom compost, black humus, expanded shale & pine straw bales as options to use for conditioning your clay soils over time.

Before you add anything else to your Texas clay beds, it’s worth knowing exactly which amendments to avoid and why the popular recommendations don’t always hold up in practice.

Fall veggies are starting to trickle in!! We just received a small batch of tomatoes and hot peppers. If you are going to plant them now… we recommend morning sun with some afternoon shade. It’s hot out there and we don’t want these pretty babies to fry in our brutal mid-summer sun. 6 hours of morning sun would be our best recommendation for planting at this time of the year. It’s always a beautiful day at Plant Spot… we will be open until 4 today. We hope to see you soon!!
