WOMEN ON WATER 2026 UPDATES!

A few important changes to note———

1. Flight times
1st flight 7:30am - 3:30pm
2nd flight 8:30am - 4:30pm

2. Check in will be at the check in boat at the mouth of the bay at 3:30pm for 1st flight and 4:30 pm for 2nd flight.

3. $400 entry fee Pay out 85%, remaining 15% is to The Stray Sanctuary to cover host expenses. $400 includes team entry, big fish contest, 2 raffle tickets for Women on Water participants only, rules night dinner, participant welcome bags, & online processing fees.

OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS

Eligibility: Any participant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult

Regulations: All contestants must observe U.S. Coast Guard and NDSGAF rules and regulations. The tournament and proper authorities will penalize anyone found breaking these rules.

All teams must consist of 2 contestants. 1 contestant teams are not allowed.

The captain (Boat Operator, may be male or female) may NOT; Set the line, touch the reels, or reel in any fish. The captain is allowed to assist in baiting, netting, and rigging, inside the boat.

If a boat only consists of 2 people, both must be female, both are eligible to fish. If a boat consists of 3 people, 2 must be women who are eligible to fish, 1 must be a boat operator who is NOT eligible to fish.

Drinking: Consumption of alcohol by the driver is prohibited. If tournament officials suspect drinking, disqualification can result.

Sportsmanship: All contestants must be courteous, safety conscious, and practice fundamental sporting principles. Any infraction can result in immediate disqualification.

Tackle & Equipment: Artificial or Live bait can be used. Each contestant may use 2 rods. You can carry spare rods.

Fishing Area: Take-off will be right outside of the bay at White Earth Bay. Boundaries are as follows: Camp Cherith going to the West, and the New Town bridge going to the East.

Contestants may not operate their boat outside of the tournament boundaries. Contestants must not exchange items or approach any other boat during the tournament. Contestants may ONLY go to shore in case of an emergency or severe weather.

If an emergency occurs, please contact proper authorities and tournament officials ASAP.

Cell phone use is allowed for the purpose of emergency communication, photos, and videos.

Boat & Motor: Boat and motor must comply with state and coast guard regulations. Excess fuel is NOT allowed on the boat unless in a certified and permanent container.

Fishing Hours: The first flight fishing hours are 7:30AM – 3:30PM – The second flight fishing hours are 8:30AM-4:30PM. Your flight will be determined by order of registration, Teams #1-60 first flight, #61-120 second flight.

Late Penalty: Contestants who arrive at the weigh in boat after 3:30PM from the first flight will be automatically disqualified. Any contestants arriving at the weigh in boat after 4:30PM from the second flight will be disqualified.

Scoring: Contestants are allowed to keep a total of 8 fish in their livewell. Only 5 walleye, sauger, or saugeye may be brought to the scale to be weighed. The Scale will open at 2PM unless otherwise stated due to severe weather.

No fish may be returned to the water after they have entered a holding structure or a stringer. Culling or high-grading fish is NOT ALLOWED.

Inspection: All boats and their contestants will be inspected the morning of the tournament. They will also be subject to search during the tournament. Boats will need to confirm at the rules meeting if they are coming by water or launching at White Earth Bay.

EVERYONE must check in & be inspected. If coming by water, check in at White Earth Bay Boat Dock for inspection. IF launching at White Earth Bay, you must check in and receive inspection prior to launching the boat (this will be done while you are in line to launch).

General: Pay out 85%, remaining 15% is to The Stray Sanctuary to cover host expenses. All ties will be broken by largest walleye, sauger, or saugeye. Interpretation of these rules will be left strictly to tournament officials. Failure to comply shall result in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fees. The decision of the tournament director is final. All rules have “Loopholes”; in the interest of good sportsmanship, contestants are reminded that the “spirit of the rule” will prevail in all judgment cases. $400 includes team entry, big fish contest, 2 raffle tickets for Women on Water female participants only, rules night dinner, participant welcome bags, & online processing fees.

Rules Meeting: Rules Meeting & Check In will be held day before the tournament (August 7th) at White Earth Bay, at least 1 team member must be present for the rules meeting to & check in.

Refunds/Exhanges: At least 1 team member on the original team must stay the same, the other 2 may change. Any changes must be finalized at the rules meeting/check in.

Cancellation: Tournament Date is August 8, 2026, alternate weather date scheduled for August 9, 2026. Severe weather decision will be made no later than 6 AM morning of August 8, 2026. If both days require severe weather cancellation, place prizes will be randomly drawn.

By entering the walleye tournament, I agree to follow the rules and agree that tournament officials shall assume No Liability for any personal injury that may incur or for any damage or theft of my equipment or property; I further agree that disqualification for illegally fishing or failure to follow tournament rules is proper penalty. Anyone who has been found guilty of cheating in any previous tournaments will not be allowed to participate. The tournament committee has the right to refuse any application.
