:::Mushy Story ❤️::: We met in 2012 at Community College of Philadelphia, just two party friends vibing. Emerald and her brother Austin would hit me up to hang out, and for a while, that was our rhythm: laughter, late nights, and good energy.
We lost touch for a few years, but when we reconnected in 2018, it felt like no time had passed. By 2020, Em wasn’t just a friend. She became my bestie 🤣 (Hope you didn’t think it was an easy road.) She gave little sister energy, but the bond ran deeper than either of us realized.
Fast forward to 2021: Ocean City trip with the friend group. Folks kept saying, “Y’all need to stop playing and just date.” So they made us share a bed (don’t worry, nothing happened 😅). Still, the trip made me think about all the friendzones, ghosting, and dead-end dating we were both going through at the time.
On night three, I tried to wake her up at 4am and whispered, “Bestie... why don’t we just date each other?” She mumbled, “We’ll talk in the morning.” Next day, she asked what I meant. “Nothing, bestie,” I lied. But truthfully, I was falling for her.
Then nature intervened. A storm hit so bad that water flooded up the expressway back in Philly. We turned back and we had to stay one more night. that night she text me “I wanna cuddle with you.” The next morning, Austin drove back. I got in her bed and we cuddled ‘til sunrise.
A few days later, we skipped the talking phase and made it official. No drama. No games. Just real love.
Since then, we’ve had each other’s back through everything: Rose Gold Fragrance, her YouTube channel, and every dream we’ve dared to chase together.
