❤️ CANTON OAKS — WE’RE COMING MONDAY! ❤️
This Monday, we’ll be heading to Canton Oaks Nursing Home to give our seniors a FREE SHOPPING DAY! 🛍️👵👴
We’re still trying to gather about 15–20 more colored pictures from kids with encouraging or inspiring words to take with us. 🖍️❤️ Mrs. Blackwell’s class made some beautiful ones for us to bring, and we are just a little short of what we need!
If you have a child who would like to color a picture, draw something, or write a few encouraging words for one of our seniors, we would LOVE to have them! 🥰
📖 We’re also looking for extra magazines that you may have around the house. Anything from gardening to crafts, home, cars, animals, or just fun reading — our seniors would love to have something to look through!
Thank you to everyone who continues to help us love on our seniors. It may seem like a small thing, but sometimes a little kindness can brighten someone’s entire day. ❤️

❤️ COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED ❤️
A woman reached out to me who is starting over with her two girls and is currently in need of some basic household items. They have some clothes , 2 cots , the last tenants left a couch . And that's about it. Her girls are 5 and 8. They need just about everything. The girls have a couple toys a piece and that's it. Please reach out to her directly at 430-207-0146
She is looking for help getting the things needed to make a home for her and her girls.
She is in need of things such as: 🛋️ Furniture
🍽️ Dishes & kitchen items
🛏️ Bedding
🪑 Household essentials
🏠 Anything that could help a family starting over
If you have anything you can donate or are able to help in anyway
She can be reached directly, and any help — big or small — would mean so much to her and her girls.

Our Golden Moments Boutique Senior Shopping Day at Canton Oaks Nursing Home has been moved!
❤️ NEW DATE: Monday, September 28th! ❤️
⏰ Meet us there at 9:00 AM
🛍️ We’ll be set up and ready by 9:30 AM
🙏 We’ll wrap up and head out around NOON
We are still looking for volunteers! 🥰 If you’ve been wanting to come help, we would absolutely LOVE to have you! We need helping hands with setup, helping our seniors shop, visiting with them, and packing everything up afterward.
These days are about so much more than shopping. ❤️ They’re about showing our seniors that they are loved, remembered, and valued.

❤️ A NECESSARY CHANGE AT THEN & AGAIN ❤️

We want to start by saying THANK YOU to everyone who supports Then & Again Thrift Store and understands what we are trying to do in our community. We truly believe in helping people when they are in need, and we want to continue doing that for as long as God allows us to. 🙏

However, we have reached a point where we have to make some changes to our free clothing program.

We have always offered 4 free outfits and 1 pair of shoes per person who is in need. Unfortunately, we are seeing this service being taken advantage of, and we are giving away more than we are selling. As a small business, that is simply not sustainable.

Effective immediately:
👕 The person receiving the free clothing must be present.
👕 The 4-outfit limit is per person, not per family member who isn't there.
👟 Each person may receive 4 outfits and 1 pair of shoes when they are present and in need.

We are also ending our Thursday “fill a bag of clothes for food” program.

We have tried very hard to make this work, but we have been receiving too much expired food. We cannot distribute food that isn't safe or appropriate, and it has become unfair to the people donating good food as well as to our store.

Please understand that Then & Again is NOT a nonprofit. We are a small thrift store. We have rent, utilities, insurance, inventory expenses, and all of the other bills that come with keeping our doors open.

The money we make helps us keep the doors open so we can continue helping people. ❤️

We aren't making these changes because we don't care.

We're making them because we DO care—and we want Then & Again to be here for our community for years to come.

We will continue helping whenever and however we can. We just have to find a way to do it that is sustainable and fair.

❤️ A LITTLE UPDATE FROM THEN & AGAIN ❤️
Sometimes God has a way of making us uncomfortable in a place we've become comfortable in… because He knows there is something bigger ahead. 🙏
We have new owners who recently purchased the building we lease. With the change in ownership, we will no longer have our 3 assigned parking spaces. We will now have one assigned space, with additional parking available in the back.
We want to be clear that we aren't upset or angry about the change. We understand that this is their property, and we respect that. ❤️
But honestly… maybe this is God pushing us toward the next chapter.
Then & Again has grown so much beyond what we ever imagined. What started as a little thrift store has turned into a place where we provide a free food pantry, free clothing and shoes, children's clothing drives, senior shopping days, nursing home outreach, winter coat and blanket drives, and so much more.
And the truth is… we have outgrown our little spot. 🥹❤️
Our storage is overflowing, our community projects continue to grow, and our hearts are bigger than the space we have.
So, God willing, we are officially starting to look for a larger place to call home. 🙏
We are praying for a building with more room for storage, more room for our pantry, more room for our volunteers, and most importantly, more room to serve our community.
We don't know where that place will be yet.
But we know Who does. ❤️
Sometimes God closes a door not because the journey is over, but because He's preparing you for a bigger one.
So please pray with us. 🙏
Pray that the right building finds us.
Pray that the finances work out.
Pray that we recognize the opportunity when God puts it in front of us.
And if you happen to know of a larger space that may be available, please reach out to us. You never know if you might be the person God uses to help open that next door. ❤️

This isn't the end of Then & Again.

❤️ WE NEED OUR AMAZING TEACHERS & STUDENTS! ❤️
As we continue our Golden Moments Boutique nursing home visits, we would love to bring something extra special to the residents we meet. 🥰
We are looking for teachers who would be willing to ask their classes to make handmade cards for our nursing home residents. 💌
We are planning to serve approximately 35–45 residents at each visit, and we would love for every resident to receive a card made with love by one of our local students.
It doesn’t have to be fancy or perfect — just a simple card with a kind message, drawing, Bible verse, or words of encouragement can mean SO much to someone who may not get many visitors. ❤️
We will be visiting nursing homes every month, so this could be a wonderful ongoing service project for classrooms, clubs, churches, or youth groups.
🎁 We have also created an Amazon Wish List with items that are helpful for our nursing-home visits. If you would like to donate an item, we would be incredibly grateful!
If you are a teacher, school, church, youth group, or community member who would like to help with cards or donations, please reach out to us!
Together, we can remind our seniors that they are loved, remembered, and never forgotten. ❤️
