📚 WILLA’S MEET THE AUTHOR: Tara Jordan

Willa has been fluttering through the shelves again, and today she landed beside The High Place by Tara Jordan!

Tara is a wife, mother of three, worship leader, and passionate pursuer of Jesus. She wrote The High Place from a deeply personal journey of recognizing the things that compete with God and learning to surrender them. Through biblical truth and practical encouragement, she helps readers move toward greater freedom, wholeness, and intimacy with Christ.

Now for a peek at the woman behind the book…

Tara may appear confident in her author photo, but she is actually extremely shy and introverted. Self-promotion is one of her least favorite activities, which means Willa will happily make a little noise on her behalf!

Her perfect writing setting is outside in the quiet with a notebook and pen. She prefers to handwrite her ideas first, letting the words take shape on paper before they become part of a book.

And although Tara appreciates peace and quiet in real life, she would gladly spend a day inside a great suspense or thriller novel. Hopefully, she would choose a chapter where everyone survives.

When asked what she could happily talk about for hours, Tara pointed us right back to the part about being shy and introverted. Message received. 🤫

Her choice for the title of her life story?

“Ssshhhhhhh…..”

Willa has been peeking behind the pages to introduce you to the wonderful people who write the books on our shelves. First up is author Cecilia Wichmann - Author, Speaker, Entrepreneur , the woman behind the domestic thriller The Ticket!

Cecilia was raised in Sweden 🇸🇪 and now lives in Texas, but here is something readers may not know: she still thinks in Swedish, even when she is speaking and writing in English. Apparently, every story takes a quick trip through Sweden before reaching the page!

If Cecilia could spend a day inside any book, she would choose a good crime novel. With so many Swedish favorites, choosing just one is nearly impossible. She would, however, prefer to enter the story as the investigator and not the victim. A very sensible decision.

Her writing desk is not always a desk, either. Some of her best ideas arrive while she is working on the ambulance or in dispatch. The things she sees and hears have a funny way of sneaking into her stories, usually after receiving a fictional twist or two.

Every author needs writing essentials, and Cecilia’s list begins with chocolate. Water is there too, but chocolate is clearly doing the important work. 🍫

When she isn’t writing, publishing, or running Willa’s Bookstore, Cecilia can happily talk for hours about her animals: Twix the Dalmatian, Cuddles the cat, and her three horses. Consider yourself warned if you ask to see pictures!

If her life were a book, the title would be Organized Chaos. Frankly, no other title stood a chance.
