This was a risky project. I wanted a drive pedal with the option of a 2 Pole LPF with resonance. I started with the concept of a Zurich ‘88 and went from there. It also has a drive order switch, which really adds options to the pedal. The risky part was trying to fit it in an 1590B enclosure which sent me back to mezzanine land, notoriously fragile when DYI’d. But it works! Had it not worked it would have been quite the loss. Excellent lessons and this thing totally rocks. Let’s see if I can get this made.

I could get better at this, pretty interesting machine, the piano! But this one I figured out without breaking anything. The plastic hinges are pretty old, this key started ringing, the damper was pressed obliquely against one of the edge strings, so the other two just rang, and the last one was mute, obviously. I might look for a replacement at some point, but in the meantime I think this fix can bridge us for a good while. Works like a charm!

15 watts or less? You can’t go wrong with the Night Light JR Mini-Attenuator. I use it with other brands as well. My Fender Bassbreaker and Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 (5 watt mode) enter beast mode. Crank it and let that output stage drive melt the ear with gorgeous goodness at an SPL that will spare your hearing. It sounds so good… Visit for more!

Spring and plate reverbs are really interesting and fun. Have you ever looked inside a reverb tank?

I wanted to try a matte finish, and it turned out to be quite flat, it seems to absorb all light! Still it looks pretty badass. Semi gloss next to it for comparison. Let’s see if there are any opinions. Also, The Zurich ‘88 überdrive is ready to start helping you sound like you have only dreamt of. Sounds coming.

The original Zürich ‘88 was a beast. It was a combo TS-9/DS-1 with full controls. The order of the pedals could be swapped. It lives in the prototypes box. I need the enclosure for my first guitar amp. But I wanted to capture this thing.
