This is a beautifully restored 1969 SS Camaro that our customer bought. After a very short time, it began to run really bad. It had an obvious nasty carb, so he asked us to replace it with a Holley Terminator EFI System. We installed an upgraded fuel system, Terminator Max system, programmed it and it ran just as bad. Diagnostics began, pulled the valve covers and discovered rocker arms that were off of the pushrods. We could have reinstalled them and re-fired the engine, but something didn’t sit well with this picture. The car had been restored with great care and detail, obviously with the engine out, but the paint on the engine was old and flaking. We pulled the motor and found 2 cylinders with broken piston rings. We sent it to our engine shop and upgraded the valve train with a Comp Cams Thumper Retrofit Hydraulic Roller Cam and Lifter Kit for Big Block Chevy K11-600-8. We added an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap Intake Manifold, COMP Cams Magnum Roller Tip Rocker Arms and a set of 14 gauge, Hedman Elite Extreme-Duty Headers. He innocently paid $60,000 for this beautiful car with a crap engine, but now he’ll have a awesome fuel injected, 396 ground shaking car that will be a dependable daily driver that he’ll be proud to take to the car meets and shows.
