A person who tells the truth doesn’t mind being questioned. A liar does.
Honest people don’t fear questions because they have nothing to hide. Their words match their actions, their story stays the same, and their conscience is clear. When you ask for clarity, they don’t become defensive or angry—they simply explain, because the truth stands on its own without needing to be protected.
Liars, on the other hand, see questions as a threat. Every lie they tell requires another one to keep it standing, and even a simple request for explanation can cause their entire web of deceit to unravel. That’s why they react with irritation, guilt-shifting, sarcasm, or even rage. It’s not your question they’re afraid of—it’s being exposed.
If someone becomes hostile the moment you ask for honesty, pay attention. You’re not “too suspicious” or “too sensitive.” You’re noticing inconsistency, and your instincts are doing exactly what they’re meant to do—protect you.
Healthy communication welcomes questions. Manipulative communication fears them.
So the next time someone makes you feel wrong for wanting clarity, remember this: honest people don’t mind being asked. Only liars panic when the spotlight turns towards the truth.

I know I'm a distant person. Not cold, just tired in ways people don't always see.
