The Nifty Place & Fire & Spice Purveyors of great w**es, craft beers, foods, and local handcrafts since Jan. 2006! "When you want more than ordinary", think of The Nifty Place.

Merged in March 2016 with Fire & Spice in Wilmington NC. Founded in Burgaw NC in Jan. 2006, we were a specialty retailer licensed as a w**e shop and had moved in with our friends from Fire & Spice Gourmet and begun operating under their banner and ABC permit. We have many delicious, small batch produced specialty food products such as salsa, preserves, pickles, local honey, BBQ and hot sauces, relishes, aged cheeses, Tilley Hats, produce and more. We eventually sold out to Seagate Bottle Shop Llc. who now operate at the same, but beautifully remodeled location.

My sympathies to the family and close friends of a former customer Charles Williamson. Charles was a friendly soul who used to love singing karaoke in our watering hole. Many will recall his bright red plastic inflatable guitar. He would ham it up big and say he was an accomplished "air guitarist". R. I. P. Charles. 🩵

To all of our dear old friends and customers: Jen and I have formed a new small business venture with our friends Kerry and Monique Kirby. (Many will recall that Mo once operated her Burgaw Bakery inside The Nifty Place.) We invite you to visit our new business "Bizzy Buzzards" in West Jefferson and our page by the same name on Facebook as we get organized and "in flight". 😁 Yes, that's me (Chris) posing for our logo.
