“CONTINUING THE STORY”

As many of you know, our beloved founder and steward passed away recently. Around Again & Again Books was never just a place to buy books — it was a place to linger, to talk, to listen, and to feel at home among stories and people who loved them.

In the days since Connie’s passing, we have been deeply moved by the messages, memories, and kindness shared by this community. It has reminded us that what she built here matters, and that it deserves care, intention, and continuity.

The store remains closed, and we are taking thoughtful steps to determine its next chapter. Our hope is not simply to close a door, but to see her vision carried forward — whether by an individual, family, or organization who understands the spirit of this place and wishes to nurture it.

If you are someone — or know someone — who has ever dreamed of owning and operating a bookstore rooted in community, conversation, and love of literature, we welcome you to reach out. We are especially interested in those who value legacy as much as opportunity.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your presence. This place has always been more than shelves and pages — it has been people. We are committed to honoring what Connie created.

We’re also hoping to gather at the bookstore in Delaware for a small memorial, especially for those who may not be able to attend services in Pennsylvania.

Nothing is set just yet, but it feels important to us to create a moment to remember Connie together in the place she loved so much and shared with all of you.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved, Connie Maglio, the heart and soul behind Around Again & Again Books.

For years, Connie welcomed every customer with her unmistakable warmth, quick wit, and genuine love for stories and the people who came to find them. Her shop was more than a bookstore — it was a home she built for her community.

As we take this time to grieve, honor her memory, and understand the next steps for the shop, Around Again & Again Books will be temporarily closed. We appreciate your patience, kindness, and the love so many of you have shown Connie over the years.

We will update everyone once we determine the future of the store she cherished so much.

Hello, Alice here! Connie and I have been talking about posting little op-eds, highlighting our favorite books. Today, I'll be talking about "The Library of the Unwritten," by A.J. Hackwith. *Disclaimer: Book one is not available in store currently, but book two is*

"Library of the Unwritten" is an Urban Fantasy (modern day setting with fantastical elements) novel, and follows Claire, who is Hell's librarian. What books are kept in such a library? The ones that were never finished; shelves upon shelves of incomplete manuscripts. They remain in a dormant state, but often come to life in the guise of one of their characters to try and escape to the real world to locate their authors in order to be completed. Claire is charged with safeguarding this from happening, or ensuring the safe reclamation of any escaped books. I won't reveal much else, other than the story picks up with one such escaped novel.

Sci-fi and fantasy are always my favorite genre of books, and this is no exception. It has an ethereal quality, and I was sucked into seeing just how the worlds on display worked. I do enjoy reading interpretations of the structures of heaven, hell, and other such otherworldly realms, and getting to explore such realms is a good time. For those hesitant about fantasy novels, with it being set in the modern age, it has a certain grounded, familiar quality that might make it more approachable. Plus, this is a book for book lovers, since it's the central conceit of it. So yes, if you happen upon a copy, give it a try!
