We opened back up yesterday after taking some time off. Thanks to everyone who stopped in to see how our time off went and spent time chatting with us. It was nice to you you all again!
While we were away, we drove to Little Valley, New York to set up at the Cattaragus County Fairgrounds for the Village of Knives knife show. Along the way we decided to stop at some historical knife factory sites. Our first stop was in Titusville Pennsylvania, where we visited the Great Eastern Cutlery factory and took a tour. We also drove by the old Queen Cutlery factory in town (now a ribbon making factory).
Our next stop was in Bradford, Pennsylvania, touring the Zippo and Case knife museum, so much great history and memorabilia in that building. Had to buy a few things for myself to bring home. 😉
In a Little Valley New York, we toured some great historical sites… visiting WR Case and family grave sites, their homes and the historical Hughes Hotel, where it was rumored that “Lincoln slept there”.
The Village of Knives knife show was amazing and was run by John Burrell, who is the mayor of Ellicottville and Brad Lockwood, who wrote the book: The Case Cutlery Dynasty: Tested XX. The knife show also featured a museum with Case Cutlery historical knives, and the largest knife and fork in the world. We met a lot of great people and look forward to going back and setting up again next year!
