We operate out of Coosa Valley Milling and have earned a reputation for care and attention to detail, nationally. We now mill some of the most delicious cornmeal, grits and polenta products available in the United States. We also sell hearty rolled oats, golden flax seed, popcorn, hush puppy and fish batter mix, and more! Our products are bagged and sealed with love and shipped from coast to coast to offer you the finest quality milled products, no matter where you are! We hear you! We are available at the Pepper Place Farmers Market every other Saturday (for over 10 years!) We are deeply honored that Ruth Reichl recently featured McEwen & Sons in her newsletter, La Briffe.

Her discovery of our grits came through a Southern-food chain we are especially proud of: chef Robert Stehling’s search for proper grits, Garden & Gun's guide, and the longtime support of Birmingham chef Frank Stitt.

Ruth called our stone-burr-ground grits “the real deal,” and also gave a kind nod to our cornmeal. For a small family mill in Wilsonville, Alabama, that means a great deal.

We have had a very busy month at McEwen & Sons! Frank Lester McEwen III was born April 28, 2026 to Frank Jr. and Madelyn McEwen! Harrison Hartsfield McEwen was born May 7, 2026 to Luke and Erin McEwen and is a long awaited little brother to Sheppard McEwen!

Frank Sr. is thinking of renaming the business McEwen & Sons & Grandsons! To celebrate, enjoy 15% all orders through Tuesday, May 26th using code GRANDSONS. We hope everyone has a safe and restful Memorial Day weekend!
