River Walk Cafe is the town's newest resident opening at the site of the previous River's Edge 302 Spring Street. The River Walk is open for breakfast and lunch, and offers a diverse menu.

Ranging from five breakfast specials utilizing French Toast, Texas French Toast, multiple combinations of eggs and various meats, to corned beef hash, there are also Pancake breakfasts, waffles, omelets of many kinds, and even a varied selection of breakfast sandwiches.

The menu continues with Eggs Benedict, Eggs Steak Benedict, Eggs Blackstone, Eggs Florentine, and homemade Biscuit & Sausage Gravy. You can choose among various forms of Stuffed French Toast, along with a list of potential sides. There is a Senior Menu for people age 62 and over.

Hometown Cafe is the owner of 33 of 33 Great reviews on YELP. Located at 314 Central St., Hometown Cafe is known for its all-day breakfast specials such as baked oatmeal, waffles and bakery goods. According to the Gardner News, owner Jesse Algarin, says "the restaurant is truly famous for its Reuben sandwich and homemade corned beef hash. "

“Our Reubens [sandwiches] are made with beef briskets and not deli meats; it’s the same briskets we use to make our homemade corned beef hash,” said Algarin.

"Hometown Cafe has used around 8,708 pounds of beef briskets within its seven and a half years of business operation, making the dining spot a master when it comes to that specific type of beef cut."

GALA increases awareness and appreciation of local arts and culture by way of exhibits, instruction, musical, and spoken word performances.

GALA has secured a permanent space at 135 Front Street in Winchendon for the benefit of the residents of the cities and towns of north central Massachusetts. GALA has the goal of using the permanent space in Winchendon and other spaces throughout the region for the benefit of the arts community to help them connect with the public through exhibits, performances, teaching, and marketing of their art. GALA believes that these activities will educate, enrich, and encourage support of the arts and culture by the community and talent at large.

Not Just Produced has quickly become one of the more popular downtown shopping locations on Central Street in Winchendon and there may not be any store owner any that supports the local community more than Beth Hunt. Beth has very strong ties to her local community. Her goal is to provide a one-stop shopping experience for customers to “Buy Local”.

She not only features the wonderful work of local artists, crafts people, authors and photographers, but also displays a fabulous selection of locally produced food items, locally raised meat, and locally raised produce (thus the name).

In the off season, she buys from small local distributors, thus continuing to support the community.

Free-range eggs, varieties of local cheese, pasture-raised beef and sausage, local honey, bee pollen, maple syrup, jams, comb honey, penny candy, local soaps, skin & bath products, Adirondack chairs, wishing wells, bird feeders, bird house, garden art, mittens & scarves, blown glass art, quilting projects, jewelry, horseshoe art, metal sculptures, paintings, scenic photography, folk art postcards and more will be added as the shop grows and fully develops.
