🌻🚜 **A Quick Update from Redbud Farm Country Crate** 🚜🌻
As many of you know, the farm stand is still fairly new, and I'm learning more every week about what customers enjoy and what works best for the stand.
Like any new venture, there has been a learning curve. I'm continuing to fine-tune the product selection, focus on customer favorites, and introduce seasonal offerings as I learn more about what works best for our community.
Because of that, you may notice some changes moving forward. The stand isn't going anywhere, but I may have fewer baked goods available unless they are requested. Instead, I'll be concentrating on the items that have become consistent favorites while continuing to offer seasonal products and test new ideas along the way.
One thing that will never change is my commitment to doing things the right way. Before opening the stand, I made sure to obtain all required licenses, approvals, and information needed to operate legally and in compliance with Virginia Cottage Food laws. Operating the stand responsibly is important to me, and I will continue to ensure everything I offer follows those guidelines.
For example, cream cheese is not permitted under Virginia Cottage Food laws because it is not considered shelf stable. That means creating products that meet the legal requirements while still meeting my standards can take a lot of time, testing, and patience. I never want to sell something that I wouldn't proudly serve to my own family. Sometimes that means multiple batches, recipe adjustments, and plenty of trial and error before I'm comfortable offering something at the stand.
That's actually why it took so long for cinnamon rolls to make their return. I wasn't satisfied with the recipe and final product until now. I wanted to make sure they were soft, flavorful, and something I could confidently put my name on before sharing them with all of you.
Building something the right way from the beginning matters to me, especially as I continue working toward bigger goals in the future. One thing I never want to worry about is whether I followed the rules correctly. My goal has always been to build a business the right way, with integrity, quality products, and respect for the laws that allow small businesses like mine to operate.
