The Autumn Table has arrived. 🍂🫖

We’ve been quietly gathering something new for the bookery: a small, ever-changing collection of vintage teaware, serving pieces, and other lovely things meant for slow mornings, long chapters, and the return of cooler days.

You’ll find vintage mugs and tea sets, hand-thrown stoneware and ceramics, serving pieces, tea tins, and a handful of other autumnal treasures tucked among the collection. Each piece has been individually selected for Kettle & Quill—some charming, some unusual, and some simply too good to leave behind. Most are one of a kind, so The Autumn Table will continually change as pieces find new homes and others take their place. 🤎

CHAPTER II: The Voices

Some stories are meant to be read quietly...

Others demand to be heard. 🕯

On October 30, All Voices Reading Room joins us at Kettle & Quill for an evening of scary stories and open-mic storytelling as part of Nightfall on South Main.

A Wi******er nonprofit lending library and community space built around literacy, inclusion, and making room for every voice, AVRR seemed a particularly fitting accomplice for the evening.

Whether you come to share a tale of your own or simply settle in and listen, further details—including participation information and the evening’s storytelling schedule—will be added to the Nightfall event page as they are finalized.

For now, listen closely.

Chapter III is coming soon.

For Banned Books Week, October 4–10, Kettle & Quill is teaming up with other bookish businesses and organizations for a celebration of books, reading, and the freedom to choose what we read.

Pick up a punch card at any participating location and make your way through all five stops—a crawl designed to introduce you to the wonderfully varied bookish spaces around Wi******er.

If you have yet to pay us a visit, we specialize in speculative fiction—fantasy, sci-fi, horror, folklore, and other strange tales—with new and pre-loved books, a large children’s collection, and a curated selection of other genres. And, of course, plenty of tea, gifts, and literary curiosities tucked among the shelves!

In addition to our regular wares, we’ll have a selection of challenged and banned books on display throughout the week. Some may be familiar; others might surprise you. Perhaps you’ll leave with a story someone once thought you shouldn’t read. 😉

Grab your punch card, come explore, and see what you discover. 📚✨

Happy Hobbit Day!!!

Today we celebrate the shared birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins-ands all the courage, friendship, and unexpected adventures found throughout Middle-Earth.

Visit Kettle & Quill and explore the Samwise Collection, our growing collection of Tolkien books and treasures for those who carry the light.

We also have more orders of "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil" on the way. After all, even the smallest person can find the grandest adventure.
