We're really looking forward to having Tiara Burnett (Hurricane Storm) join us for this one.

Desire is something we all experience, but it's not always something we understand or feel comfortable talking about. Why does it change? Why are we drawn to certain things? And how do we talk about what we want without feeling awkward or embarrassed?

That's exactly why we wanted to bring this conversation to Please… Boutique.

We recently shared that we're bringing a new workshop to Please… Boutique, and we're excited to officially announce the details!

First, we'd love to introduce you to the person leading the conversation.

Meet Tiara Burnett, also known as Hurricane Storm!

Tiara brings an incredible range of experience to the table. She's a crisis counselor, advocate, and educator with a background in healthcare, psychiatric care, crisis intervention, and supporting survivors of trafficking and sexual violence.

She's also an experienced educator within the B**M community, presenting at conferences and events where she encourages open conversations about identity, sexual expression, communication, and personal empowerment.

What we especially appreciate about Tiara's approach is her belief that everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

And that's exactly the kind of environment we want to create at Please.

So, what are we talking about?

Where desire comes from, why it changes, how to navigate desires that might feel taboo, and how to communicate those wants within our relationships.

Whether you're single, partnered, curious, or simply interested in understanding yourself a little better, there's something to take away from this conversation.

💜 PURPLE LIGHTS. STRONGER TOGETHER. 💜

If you’ve noticed our storefront glowing purple, there’s a reason behind it.

Purple represents Domestic Violence Awareness, and this cause is deeply personal to both of us. We are not just business owners standing behind a message. We are two women who have survived domestic violence ourselves.

We know that behind closed doors, someone may be fighting a battle the world knows nothing about. We know that finding your strength, rebuilding your confidence, and learning to feel like yourself again can take time.

That’s why this month, our purple lights shine for the survivors. For the women and men who found the courage to leave. For those still finding their way. For anyone who needs a reminder that what happened to them does not define who they are.

At Please Boutique, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, valued, and free to be themselves. And we believe no one should ever have to face abuse alone.

💜 You are not alone. You are not to blame. You deserve love without fear.

Tonight our lights shine purple for every survivor, every thriver, and every person still searching for hope.

6–9 PM

Get hands-on and create your very own custom ni**le clamps! A fun, creative evening where you can learn, socialize, and leave with something you made yourself.

When it gets cold outside, what happens to desire? ❄️

The colder months usually mean more time at home.

More nights on the couch.
More pajamas.
More Netflix.
More time in the same space.

So you’d think more time together = more intimacy.

Not necessarily.

When couples live together, especially during seasons when we’re spending even more time indoors, it’s easy to confuse proximity with connection.

You can spend an entire evening beside someone without really connecting with them.

And desire doesn’t always appear just because you finally have free time.

For many people, desire is responsive rather than spontaneous. That means you may not randomly think, “I want sex.” Desire may show up after affection, flirting, touching, laughing together, having a meaningful conversation, or intentionally creating a little anticipation.

Cold weather can also mean less sunlight, less movement, disrupted routines, stress around the holidays, kids being home more, and simply feeling tired — all things that can affect how interested in intimacy we feel.

So if you and your partner find yourselves becoming more like roommates during the colder months, it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong with your relationship.

Sometimes connection needs to become intentional again.

Put the phones down.

Sit somewhere other than your usual spots on the couch.

Ask each other something you haven't asked in a while.

Flirt.

Take a shower together.

Give each other a massage without deciding beforehand where it has to lead.

Have a date at home.

Because sometimes desire doesn't need to be found.

It needs a little room to develop. 🤍
