🏁 MSR UPDATE — THE FALL FIASCO 🏁
Seven teams. Four racers per team. 28 drivers. Eight hours of racing. One brutal endurance battle. And just 13 points separating first and second when it was all over.
Yesterday morning at 11:00 AM, the green flag dropped at MSR Racing in Windsor, Vermont for the 8-Hour Fall Fiasco Endurance Race put on by Dickie Pearson .
Racers came from all over — Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York and Ohio, with the Clover Leaf team making the haul all the way from Michigan.
The seven four-man teams taking on the challenge were:

🏁 Wicola
🏁 Host 1
🏁 Pewiry
🏁 Host 2
🏁 MSR 2
🏁 Clover Leaf
And once the racing started, it didn't take long to realize this was going to be a battle.
🔥 FOUR HOURS DOWN — AND ONE POINT IN IT!
At the halfway mark, after four grueling hours of racing, the standings were:
🥇 MSR 1 — 1,155
🥈 Wicola — 1,154
🥉 Host 1 — 1,141
4th — Peary — 1,118
5th — Host 2 — 1,103
6th — MSR 2 — 1,093
7th — Clover Leaf — 1,051
ONE POINT!
After four hours of racing, MSR 1 and Wicola were separated by a single point.
We broke for lunch, totaled up the scores and enjoyed some awesome food brought in by the wives. A huge thank-you to them for feeding this hungry bunch and getting everybody fueled up for what was about to come.
Because the second half was a completely different animal.
⚠️ THEN DISASTER STRUCK
MSR 1 went back out with the lead — and then blew a rear-end gear.
There was no stopping the clock.
There was no red flag.
The repair had to be made UNDER GREEN while everybody else kept racing.
By the time MSR 1 got the car repaired and back into the fight, the team had fallen 21 LAPS DOWN and lost a 10+ lap lead.
Twenty-one laps.
In an endurance race this competitive, that could have been the end of it.
It wasn't.
MSR 1 started digging.
Lap after lap.
Point after point.
Meanwhile, Host 1 was making a move when they suffered a rear-end gear failure of their own. They had to make repairs and lost valuable ground.
Wicola also ran into trouble and had to spend time working on their car.
And while all of that was happening, MSR 2 was making a huge charge from the back of the field.
Now it was anybody's race.
Every lap mattered.
Every mistake mattered.
Every second in the pits mattered.
And MSR 1 just kept coming.
🏎️ THE COMEBACK WAS ON
After falling 21 laps behind, MSR 1 fought its way all the way back and incredibly won the second half with 1,135 points.
The second-half scores:
🥇 MSR 1 — 1,135
🥈 Wicola — 1,123
🥉 MSR 2 — 1,115
4th — Peary — 1,111
5th — Host 2 — 1,110
6th — Host 1 — 1,083
7th — Clover Leaf — 1,075
Then came the moment everybody had been waiting for.
After eight hours of racing, it was time to add everything up.
🏆 THE FINAL FALL FIASCO RESULTS 🏆
🥇 MSR 1 — 2,290 POINTS
🥈 Wicola — 2,277 POINTS
🥉 Pewiry — 2,229 POINTS
4th — Host 1 — 2,224
5th — Host 2 — 2,213
6th — MSR 2 — 2,208
7th — Clover Leaf — 2,126
THIRTEEN POINTS.
That's all that separated MSR 1 and Wicola after eight hours of racing.
MSR 1 went from leading by one point at halfway, to suffering a blown rear end, to falling 21 laps behind, and then battled all the way back to capture the Fall Fiasco victory by just 13 points.
THAT'S ENDURANCE RACING.
The racing itself lasted eight hours, but this was truly an 8-to-8 day at MSR. By the time everything was finished up, it was about 8:00 PM — roughly 12 hours after the day began.
A huge thank-you to all 28 racers who made the trip and put on one incredible show.
Thank you to everybody who brought food, helped with the event, turn marshaled, worked on cars and did whatever needed to be done to keep this race moving.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who traveled from near and far to race with us at MSR.

And just 13 points deciding the winner.
