Hi everyone! Thanks for your interest in our event today with Valerie Bolling and Cindy Rodriguez. Due to the weather today, including the possibility of flash flooding and roads washing out, we thought it best to postpone today's event. We can't wait to talk to these amazing authors, but we want them to arrive and go home safely! We'll let you know when it's been rescheduled. Stay safe out there.

Editing our new podcast episode--out on our YouTube channel now!--made me realize how cluttered my desk had become. I thought I was hiding the clutter on video by putting everything behind the desktop, but I realized in editing my last podcast episode how cluttered everything was!

The AC is still duct-taped to the window, which is so ugly (I need curtains or SOMETHING). There's still piles of unsorted books in the back, and things have been knocked over by the cats and will be again. I should bring home a couple of book stands to put books up on top of the shelf behind me, though--right now, they're WAY too easy to topple over by a cat. But still! Better!

Winsted friends! Join your community to learn how to clean and reset/repair our community's gravestones in our historic cemetery. From the Wi******er Historic Commission:

We really need your help and any friends of yours. I have chosen around 9 or 10 tombstones that need repairs. Several will then be lifted up with some mechanical help. The plan is to teach us how to maintain them ourselves.

And I am more than happy to teach others how to clean stones. Just found and cleaned the stone for another American Revolutionary patriot, Jonathan Coe. Now looks like new! This is a grown-up version of a treasure hunt!!

We begin at 9 a.m. and are located across from the Winsted Green. So please forward to your friends and commissions and let's work, have fun together, and show our community spirit!

Something I keep forgetting to put on the educator-author meet-and-greet happening on Sunday: we have FREE BOOKS for educators to take home on Sunday! If you're in Connecticut, educate pre-K to 12, and want to meet some authors & talk about using children's and YA books in the classroom, we're hosting educators THIS SUNDAY in Winsted.
