A Heartfelt Thank You from Dilavanda Farm 💜✨Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of attending the 81st Annual Colebrook Fair as a vendor, and my heart is just overflowing. I’ve always deeply loved this fair for its old-fashioned charm and beautiful family values—from the classic dog show and the incredible car show to the thrilling cardboard boat race and the legendary frog-jumping contest. It is a rare and beautiful gift that a community can still put on an event where there is no charge to park, no admission fee, and zero cost to participate. To all of the community supporters, local organizers, and hard-working volunteers who donate their time every single year to make this magic happen: thank you. You represent the absolute best of Connecticut. But beyond the wonderful traditions, what truly touched my soul yesterday was a beautiful shift in the crowd. As I looked out from the Dilavanda Farm booth, I didn't just see a crowd—I saw the bright future of our community. The green was absolutely bursting with young families. Everywhere I looked, there were expectant mothers, newborns nestled close in harnesses, and strollers navigating the grass. I saw so many "Irish twins" and big families with two or three little ones in tow. One of the most beautiful sights was seeing so many proud dads escorted by their toddlers, carefully holding pails with their prize jumping frogs ready for the contest. To witness so many young people choosing to start families, raising children, and immersing them in the same pure, wholesome traditions we hold dear was incredibly moving. It was a powerful reminder of what truly matters.Thank you, Colebrook, for welcoming Dilavanda Farm, for keeping these traditions alive, and for giving us a front-row seat to a community that is growing, thriving, and bursting with new life.
