The acoustic corner is looking especially good today.

We’ve got a wall full of acoustics, 12-strings, resonators, oddballs, old friends and newer favorites—all waiting to be picked up and played. Different woods, different voices, different stories…and there’s nothing quite like finding the one that sounds right in your hands.

SPOTLIGHT: Electra MPC X-310

Here’s one from the “what were they thinking—and why don’t guitars still do this?” department.

The Electra MPC X-310 took the idea of onboard electronics to a completely different level. Introduced during the MPC era of the late ’70s, these guitars were designed to accept interchangeable effects cartridges right inside the guitar—two modules at a time, powered by a 9V battery.

And this one has a particularly fun pair:

Pop open the compartment on the back and there they are. No pedalboard required. Flip the switches on the front and you’ve got effects literally built into the guitar. Electra eventually offered a whole assortment of MPC modules including fuzz, flanger, auto wah, octave, compressor and more.

Add the dual humbuckers, elaborate binding and inlays, all those mysterious k***s and switches, and that gorgeous transparent red finish, and you have exactly the kind of guitar we love around here.

Weird. Clever. Over-engineered. Completely cool.

Come plug this one in and experience one of the more wonderfully ambitious ideas of the 1970s.

Here’s the kind of bass that reminds us why we love old gear so much — a 1965 Kay 5935 Deluxe Bass, wearing every bit of its age proudly.

There’s a Goldtop… and then there’s this Goldtop.

Just landed at Heyday: a 2024 Gibson Custom Shop R7 Les Paul — Wildwood Made to Measure.

Built around the legendary ’57 Les Paul recipe, this one gets the extra attention that comes with Wildwood’s Made to Measure program. Classic Goldtop looks, Custom Shop craftsmanship, and that unmistakable Les Paul combination of weight, sustain and growl.

It looks especially good sitting in the front window, but we’d much rather hear somebody plug it in.

Just in at Heyday — a 2010 Breedlove Studio C250 12-String, made in Korea.

This one delivers everything you want from a good 12-string: big, shimmering chords, plenty of jangle, and that huge natural chorus that makes even the simplest progression sound like a record.

The Breedlove cutaway body keeps it comfortable and playable, while the distinctive Breedlove styling gives it a look all its own. A lot of guitar for the money and a great choice if you’ve been wanting to add a 12-string to the arsenal without going crazy on the budget.

Just in at Heyday—this seriously cool 1981 Gibson L6S in Silverburst.

The L6S has always been one of those wonderfully different chapters in Gibson history. Sleek double-cutaway body, unmistakable late-’70s/early-’80s attitude, and a shape that feels familiar while still being completely its own thing.

And then there’s that Silverburst. Nearly 45 years of age has given this one exactly the kind of vintage character you want to see. Throw in a pair of humbuckers and you’ve got a Gibson that looks as mean as it sounds.

If your tastes run a little outside the usual Les Paul/SG lane, this one deserves a look.

Here’s a killer piece of mid-’70s Gibson history that you don’t see every day—a 1975 Gibson Marauder, and this one is in excellent condition.

The Marauder came from that wonderful era when Gibson wasn’t afraid to get a little weird. A bolt-on neck, distinctive pickup configuration, natural finish and a shape that sits somewhere between familiar and completely its own thing. It’s pure ’70s Gibson—and nearly 50 years later, it still looks fantastic.

These have gone from under-the-radar oddballs to genuinely cool vintage Gibsons, and finding one this clean is getting harder all the time.

Vintage • New • Weird & Wonderful.
That last part definitely applies here.
