Tomorrow, Thursday, September 10 from 12:30–8:30 PM, we’re having a very special day at Scoops for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts.
Liz wasn’t just the inspiration behind Liz’s Legacy, she was a dear family friend to one of our owners, and such a special part of her life. They lived together while in college, and Liz was actually the first person to meet her husband, Jake! She unexpectedly passed away at just 32 years old. The Brigham’s named their 3rd child’s middle name after Liz.
Liz was a licensed mental health counselor with a heart for helping children and teenagers. But if you knew Liz, you also knew how FUN she was. She had the best laugh, could always put a smile on your face, and had the biggest heart for her people. 💜
After her passing, her family created Liz’s Legacy to continue the work she cared so deeply about. It was about making mental health counseling accessible to children and teens who need it. Since 2016, they have provided more than 2,300 counseling scholarships, working with over 45 approved counselors at 15 counseling centers. We even have one right in our backyard at Hope Counseling through the Jessie Brock Community Center.
These scholarships help children and teens facing incredibly difficult circumstances, including suicidal thoughts, abuse, trauma, divorce, and other situations where getting professional help can truly change or save a life.
Tomorrow, 100% of Scoops’ profits will go to Liz’s Legacy. Every cone, cup, shake and merch will help provide counseling scholarships for kids and teens in our community.
We are so proud to partner with this incredible organization not only to help more children receive the counseling they need, but to honor a dear friend who was loved so much, and whose heart for others continues to make an impact today.
