If at first you don’t succeed… restyle the mannequin. 😂

These looks had been hanging out for a while without finding their person, so I decided it was time for a little remix. A different bottom, a new accessory, a scarf moved here instead of there — and suddenly the whole outfit feels different.

One of my favorite things about vintage is that sometimes you don’t need new pieces. You just need to see the ones you already have a little differently. ✨

🦋💕This is one of my favorite parts of having the shop: putting pieces together and realizing, “wait… I would absolutely wear this.”
Vintage doesn’t have to mean wearing a head-to-toe costume from another decade. Give me an incredible cardigan, great denim, a slightly ridiculous necklace and something modern underneath and I’m happy.

Still having a little “is this really mine?!” moment every time I walk into this room. 🥹
Rene + Gerty at Freckle Salvage Company is officially my little shop-within-a-shop — filled with vintage clothing, accessories, jewelry, handmade pieces, and all the weird, pretty, nostalgic things I can’t leave behind when I find them.
I wanted the space to feel less like a rack of things for sale and more like somewhere you want to wander around and discover something you didn’t know you needed. And honestly? That’s exactly what it’s becoming. ✨

Okayyyy apparently dressing the mannequins is now a dangerous game because all you lovelies keep buying the outfits right off of them 😂👏

So naturally… they got another refresh.

And a little PSA while I have you: I carry plus sizes too! Cute vintage style should not stop at a certain size, and I’m always working to keep a good mix on the racks. ✨

Alice currently says she either wants to be a veterinarian… or an interior designer. 😂 Quite the range.

So whenever I’m working on my space and there’s something she can be part of, I try to bring her in.
I love giving her little opportunities to try things, make decisions, be creative, and see what actually goes into building and running something of your own. Maybe she’ll grow up and want absolutely nothing to do with any of this — and that’s completely fine.

But for now, she gets to experiment. She gets to have an opinion. She gets to see an idea turn into something real.

And I get to have my favorite little creative assistant by my side. 🤍
