Cook's Bison Ranch is a historical treasure located in beautiful Northern Indiana Amish Country. This 700 acre working bison ranch is home to about 400 head of bison and is family owned and operated. We strive to produce quality bison meat that is naturally lean, naturally delicious, & naturally raised! You can also visit us at the ranch to see and feed the Great American Bison! Cook's Bison Ranch

believes that bison meat is the meat for the future. We strive to produce a quality product that is naturally tasty, tender, and healthy. You can now imagine eating a delicious red meat and not feel guilty. Our animals receive no growth hormones or stimulants, and we raise almost all our own hay and grain for feed. We feel it is important that we can provide all of our customers with accurate information on the meat they are buying. What all began with family: grandpa's farm as a home for the bison, grandpa's old hay wagon used for giving hay ride tours, grandpa's tractor for doing chores, grandpa's barn for storing equipment, and grandpa's spirit which still lives on, still perseveres with family. The whole family welcomes you to be our guests for a distinct taste and unique trip out to see a true American icon. Visit Cook's Bison Ranch and be a part of our living history.

Why are beef prices so high? Let’s look at the economics. The United States has roughly the same number of cattle today as it did in 1950. The population in 1950? 151 million. The population in 2026? 349 million. It’s that simple.

We are losing ranches to development and recreational land, along with access to government grazing lands that many smaller ranches rely on during the summer. Couple that with the average rancher being 67 years old, and it’s easy to see why our cattle supply is having a hard time growing.

These are the top reasons beef prices are high, among other factors! Which of these surprised you the most?
